Mid water collision...what are the chances?

Beach: Klode
Water temp: 66
Crew: The Patriarch, Robin, Capt'n
Water Clarity: absolutely Outstanding!
Waves: choppy none
Current: from the north
Next Swim: Sunday 12PM Klode

Wow...what a superb day for a swim from Klode!! Sunny skies, temps in the low 80's and water clarity that few windows at home could match.

The Patriarch's thermometer read 66...just a degree warmer than yesterday...but just a bit offshore the water felt closer to the 70s. Not surprising The Patriarch and I swam again today without wetsuits. Robin chose to stick with hers though...

For those of you who have swam from Klode before you know how expansive the Klode bay is....there's plenty of space for swimmers, boaters, canoes...etc. to sprawl out. That's why today's swim was more than a bit of a surprise....

...Our swim today took us from Klode's southeast beach up 200 meters past the garage. I was swimming quite a ways from shore enjoying the clarity of the swim and occasionally checking to my left and right for The Patriarch and Robin when all of a sudden, WHAM!!! I hit something head-on....was it a boat? ...a canoe? ...a big fish? NO....it was a swimmer (Preston) who was swimming back to Klode.

What are the chances??? ...with all that space to swim that two swimmers would have a mid water collision? ...anyway...after the initial shock we both were very relieved to find out that neither one of us was Jaws....or a great big boat...and shared a few jokes before returning to our respective swims.

Tomorrow's swim is planned for noon from Klode. Hope to see you there!
