Sun vs. Fog

Next swim: Wednesday, 6pm, then Thursday, July 4 10:00am Big Bay (to Atwater)?
Last swim: Wednesday, 6am
Water temp: maybe more uniformly 59--no serious variations
Water clarity: murkier than yesterday, but still pretty clear
Waves: flat
Kru: Forger, Dragonfly Riffraff, Rick from Boston, Magic Mike

It is nearly 9:00 as I write this and the fog has a leg up in the sun v. fog battle. But earlier, at the beach, the sun was definitely winning. Four swimmers glided off across the surface of the lake and four returned, happy to have started their day off on the right foot. Rick was flying back to Boston and the rest of us sized up our days, knowing we have done one good thing for the day.

As I read the comments, there seems to be a growing consensus around a 10:00am start time for a swim between Big Bay and Atwater. Not a lot of beach this year at Big Bay. Y'all may want to negotiate the specifics in the comments.

That would be: Dr. Freeze from Boston in addition to Magic Mike, Forger & Drangonfly.
An amazing & beautiful swim - well worth getting out of bed before fully awake!

Anyone interested in swimming at noon or later from Big Bay? .... Unfortunately 10am won't work for me.

The downside of a Big Bay to Atwater swim at Noon is that they will lock up Atwater at Noon. I managed to get around it somehow last year, but don't remember how. I just remember it was a pain

OK, I'm flip flopping. Noon it is. I just went down to Atwater to scope things out, and there are a couple of big signs saying the beach is closing at 1 pm on July 4th!

Let's stick with Big Bay to Atwater plan though.

Mrs. Bubble says that last year, they were telling people they needed to get off Atwater Beach at 1:00, so they were still letting people out of the gate well after 1:00.

I'll post some more details on the blog for this evening's swim.
