Biggish Water

Next Swim: Mon. - Fri., 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Last swim: Sunday, 8 a.m.
Water temp: 67?
Water clarity: zero
Waves:  up to 4 or so feet; not "am I stupid to swim?" big yet, but getting there; your results (or wisdom) may vary
Kru: Mr. A, Karen and Kahuna, with shore support by Linda the Lamprey and Magic Mike (at least, neither of them went in at 8 as far as I know)

Bright sunshine and a pretty raucous surf met the Kru as we strolled down to the beach this morning.  "Newbie" Karen was already on the beach, getting on her wetsuit.  She's training for Escape from Alcatraz later this month.  She usually swims in the Shorewood pool, and has only swam with us once before (on a day when the very cold late spit her back out pretty quick).  So she decided today was a good day to give it another go.  She and I had a nice invigorating swim against a solidly noticeable current up to birches and back.  Return trip was half the time.  Swimming against a current like that, with the challenging sighting conditions, should be good training for San Francisco Bay.

And speaking of strong, fearless, capable women, how 'bout them members of the USWNST?  Woo-hoo!
