Sunrise AND Full Moon

Next Swims:
Mon-Fri 6AM and 5PM  (we're on the verge of shifting the 6am swim to maybe 6:15?)
        Saturday/Sunday 8AM and Noon
Monday...? stay tuned since it's a holiday.  We may do 8 & 12.

Last Swim:  Thursday 6am
Water Temp: 62
Air Temp: high 60's
Clarity: good near shore, murky away from shore
Waves: like glass, with some small chop out of the south
Kru: Magic Mike,  Ala, Dragonfly, Showgirl,  Sheila, Laguna Mike, Patriarch, Panini

The water temperature had ticked down by one degree this morning.  It was flat as glass when we launched, and it wasn't until we were leaving the rockpiles that the amazing full moon came into view.  It quickly disappeared as we swam north.

There were two SUPers paddling around during the swim.  I feel kinship with them, connected by the water, yet also tiny bit sad for them because they're not actually in the lake.

The flat and warm(ish) water still felt like a gift, and many swam skin.  Dragonfly and I stopped to chat briefly about the Magic Mike's heart-shaped opening in the trees over the birches.  Honestly, though, it looks more like a pair of kidneys to me.

On our return, the wind was beginning to pick up, and  there was a minuscule chop out of the south.

By then, the sun was fully above the horizon and everything along the shore was lit up by the clarity of the sun.

We all agreed that it seemed super dark as we left our houses, but by 6am the beach still has plenty of light.  That said, sunrise is getting later by a minute or so every day.  All to say, morning swim times will be shifting a bit later soon.
