More Than Chop

Given the dwindling days of swimming, I resolved to drag myself out of bed this morning and it was totally worth it. 

We kept our fleeces on until the last moment before entering the water.  It was another brief but epic swim in the waves.  The water was reasonably warm, so most went skin, with some envious looks at the lava pants.

The forecast sites say 1-2ft waves, but I'm here to say that this morning's waves were more like 3-footers. Sometimes the waves matched the rhythm of your swim strokes, sometimes you teetered on the top and the wave rudely slapped you in the face.


This looks like annoying chop but it was... more.

I felt reluctant to get out, and the sand was chilly on our feet. It seemed comical that PN put on her flip flops to keep her feet warm.

The lake rarely disappoints.
