Destination Moon

Sunset:  7:23 pm
Full Moonrise:  8:05 pm

Water Temp: 64
Air Temp: 73
Clarity: Hard to judge in the dark
Waves: flat
There's a moon in the sky
It's called the moon
And everybody is there, including:
Moondaug, We'Taco, Lt MJ, Cindy B, Kim G, Luna Laguna, Mr. Bubble, Mike (sans goatee)

What an experience!  Some images that are seared in my brain:
  • The sight of seven other swimmers, lined up thigh deep in the water, in the dark, waiting to swim out.
  • The sight of a flashing bike light in a Barbie, as it pulls ahead.
  • Seeing moonlight shining in to the water while underwater
  • Moon rising over the rocks

But the image that's most strongly seared in to my brain was what Moondaug, We'Taco and I saw as we came up the hill to the parking lot.

The three of us are about 10 yards away from the parking lot, and ahead of us we see three policeman.  They see us coming and start walking straight towards us - they look like they mean business.  Very serious.  I thought for sure we were in violation of something and that we were seconds away from being put in handcuffs.  Where's Kahuna when you need him the most?

"Do any of you own that vehicle over there?" and there is an SUV, right in the middle of the parking lot.  Whew!  "No, none of us own that vehicle and we're very relieved that's the only question you want to ask us".

Apparently, someone had parked the SUV and left it in neutral, and it just rolled by itself into the middle of the parking lot.  Not to worry WFB residents - two police cars are on the seen checking this out.

But, getting back to the original point of this blog - There's a Moon in the Sky

There's a moon in the sky
It's called the moon
And everybody is there, including,
Saturn, Mercury
Saturn, Venus
Saturn, Mars

The Van Allen Belt
Roll-roll-roll-roll-rollin' in Andromeda
Won-ton-ton-ton rama-in-Andromeda
There's too many rings---This is the Space Age
There's too many things---This is the Space Age
Just ain't no atmosphere tonight
If you're lucky you get to ride in a gold meteorite
If you're not, you get a mouth, a mouthful of red Kryptonite
You better move over
Here comes a Super-nova
