Water Temp: 59

Kru: Mr. Anonymous, Ala, Cindy, Lieutenant MJ, Luna Laguna, Chris, Magic Mike

There were no thermometers at the water this morning. So I tried the old toe-meter. I waded in, felt the temp, and thought it was a lot like the last couple of days. So I turned around and reported, "low to mid 60s!" Seemed pretty good at the time. But then, by the time I got prepared and waded into the water for real, it seemed a heck of a lot colder. Mr A., Ala, Luna and I all gave it a whirl without wetsuits. Cindy, MJ, and Chris showed better sense; they wore neoprene.  Sure enough, with the exception of Ala, the skin swimmers pretty much turned at the garage (Mr. A went a bit further), while the folks in wetsuits managed a longer swim. Ala toughed it out and took a longer swim with no wetsuit. Props!

It was one of those mornings when you were well-advised to jump quickly into dry clothes. It was also one of those mornings when a tall cup of warm coffee and a hearty breakfast sandwich start calling to you the moment you get out of the water.  We all decided the water was likely just a tad under 60.

A good brisk morning as the sun rose.

Keep swimming!
