Record set...going for more

Beach: Klode
Water temp: 54
Air Temp: 54
Waves: very slight chop from north
Water Clarity: crystal clear
Crew: Gabriel, Gumdrop, Capt'n with special guest The Patriarch
Next Swim: Klode 4:30PM Wednesday

Wow...who'd a thunk we'd still be swimming after the unbelievably cold water temps we experienced in August? ...even more amazing is that we're doing it in water temps between 52-54 degrees? While we didn't have the luxury of a thermometer last year to egg us on we probably wouldn't have considered swimming in these water temps....now we don't even pause to contemplate whether or not to swim when the temp is above 52. Strange how the mind and body work....

A slight chop and current from the north made our swim Tuesday up to the Garage a bit more of a challenge than we thought. Originally we thought our slow trek northward was due to our great anticipation and enthusiasm to log our record breaking swim...as our return trip to Klode was nearly effortless it became evident that our early challenges were due to a current and not faulty engines.

The forecast for Wednesday was announced just prior to our swim Tuesday to be near 70 and sunny...although looking out the window now its apparent that this forecast may have been wrong. Regardless, we still plan to swim at 4:30pm Wednesday. Rumors are still circulating of a skin swim.....we'll see. :)
