Ready or not....here we swim!

Next Swim:  TBD
Last Swims:
   Saturday June 1st - noon
      Water Temp:  50 (Itch-o-meter), 47.4 (macho-meter)
      Waves:  slight chop from east
      Clarity: crystal
Crew:  Diablo, Itch, Linda with shore support from Handyman Hank, Capt'n

   Sunday June 2nd - noon
      Water Temp:  51 (Itch-o-meter), 50.4 (macho-meter)
Waves: slight chop from north east
      Clarity: crystal
Crew:  Diablo, Itch, Linda, Drangonfly, Mr. Bubbles, Handyman Hank, Panini, Brent & Julie with shore support from The Patriarch, Ziggy, Capt'n

Despite water temps barely above 50 the crew was determined Sunday to get er done!  Perhaps it was Handyman Hank's visit with Hardware Hank on Saturday that convinced him to walk the plank for the first time Sunday?  Kudos to all the badass Kru members who have taken the early season plunge despite the COLD water temps so far!

Fyi, this Saturday is the Shorewood Men's BBQ Picnic at Atwater Park. There are few pleasures in life that surpass going for a swim, then drinking beer and eating BBQ. I have slightly discounted-price tickets for the event. Chicken BBQ tickets cost $11, 1/2 Rack of Pork Ribs tickets cost $14. I recommend the ribs. (Fyi, I'm lobbying for them to offer a veggie or vegan option next year, as I wouldn't be surprised if a significant percentage of folks on the Northshore are moving that way -- Impossible BBQ Burger anyone?) Let me know if you want to buy, either through a comment or an email. I plan on being at Saturday's swim. Not sure currently where or when that is.

Haven't we swum out of Atwater for the last couple of years (on the Men's Club BBQ day)?

Anyone interested in a 5 AM swim tomorrow?

Yay!!! The men's club BBQ is one of the best days of summer! I want a ticket! (Ribs!) I want to shipwreck swim at Atwater! I will be there noonish, tho as I recall we've swam earlier in previous years...

Traditional thinking being the earlier we swim, the more likely we are to be able to see the shipwreck. How about a 10:00 a.m. gathering at the bluff top deck Saturday morning? Or do folks prefer 11? Weather and wind direction and speed looks pretty good for tomorrow.

Best view of shipwreck swim is high sun (about 11-12) and clear sky.
