Shipwreck Swim Sunday at 1PM

Next Swim:  1PM Sunday October 9th ATWATER BEACH
Meet at the flagpole on top of the bluff.
We will swim to the shipwreck:  The water is very clear and calm and should remain so on Sunday so it should be an excellent day to swim to the shipwreck about a quarter mile offshore.

Last Swim:  Saturday October 8th noon
Water: 61 crystal clear almost calm
Crew: Wet Taco, Drangonfly, Lorraine, Diablo, Gumdrop, Kahuna, Itch, Patriarch

On the way back from Mudslide the surface ripples were moving in the same direction and speed as we were, so the dappled sunlight on the bottom seemed to be moving with us.  It was mesmerizing to be in such total harmony with the lake, sun, sky and water.

Where is Ted? Where is showgirl? Neither has been seen since ironman-- coincidence?

Three comments about a Shipwreck swim:

1. To get to the wreck, head for the weather buoy.
2. The wreck is farther from shore than you think it will be (it takes about 10 minutes of swimming to get there; likewise, the weather buoy is farther from shore than it looks, as it takes about a half hour of swimming to get there).
3. Seeing the wreck is awesome!
