Unbelievably Clear

Next Swim: Sat 8/7 9AM
Note: Robin is interesting in swimming at 2PM instead, if interested put a comment in this blog or call or email her.

Last Swim: Fri 8/6 5:45AM
Water Temp: 62
Waves: calm
Crew: Diablo, Lane, Perry, Patriarch

The water was so clear and clean and calm it seemed like we were gliding through air rather than water. It was so pleasant we went all the way to "three piers" before turning back.

I wish I had a dollar for every person who asked me how we can swim in such a polluted lake, and when I tell them how clear the water is, they don't believe me. Their loss, I guess.

Note all of the idiotic comments to the JSOnline article re swimming in the lake. Although it may be a bit late now, I encourage swimmers to post comments to the article speaking positively about swimming in the lake, and giving a link to the blog. It may result in some folks joining us, who so far were unaware of what they are missing.

If you are interested in an article and video about the woman who took the round-about route to swim from England to France, taking 29 some hours to complete the swim, and covering 65 miles in the process, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-10782301.

Change of plans. I may try to get there with or close to the 9am crew. Sorry for the late notice but no one posted or contacted me anyway. Swim on little fishies.
