Air Temp: 35

All Hail the TattooLady!

Yep, it's December FOURTH and we're still swimming.  And by "we" I don't mean "me," at least not today.

TattooLady and AlaMode did a leisurely paddle around the rockpile, and then TTL did more swimming north. So impressive.

Meanwhile, Dragonfly did a strip 'n' dip.

While TTL was out past the north rockpile, a small boat went speeding past Klode.  She said she saw a fish leap out of the water, so perhaps there's some good fishing to be done?  There were also some mysterious things out there that were too far to identify.  Kayakers (that didn't go anywhere) or a pair of really big birds, plus a flock of smaller birds?  A mystery, to be sure.

AlaMode impressed us with pushups and core work that she did to warm up post-swim, and TTL's post swim accomplishment was to prevent her gear from freezing to the metal wall.

There was also evidence on the beach of some really big waves.  Plus a dead frog carcass.

Other beautiful pics from the morning:

Here's a tiny video that I accidentally took:

You can put lip stick on a pig, but it's still a pig, and Winter is not Summer.

Re "Kayaks" that don't move: what you saw was probably a duck layout boat. Guys go out this time of year on calm days to hunt ducks. Small boats, and the hunter lays down in the boat with a shotgun, calls ducks, then pops up and blasts away if the ducks get close enough. All the hunter needs to be is at least than 500 ft. (166 yards) from shore (unless that rule has recently been changed). A lot of people around here are surprised to know hunters can hunt that close to WFB or St. Francis shoreline. All I can say is that Ice Moon Dawg would be smart to be careful holding up his ducky thermometer this time of year.

Yes, I can vouch for Kahuna's identifying the kayaker's purpose. My brother in law's brother is into this form of duck hunting big time. However, I don't think the duck-o-meter is at risk, unless the ID throws it really high in the sky so it looks like it's in flight.
