Beautious. Thxs. for posting.
Is it warm enough yet to swim without a wet suit?
KellyMKE, I am just one swimmer and everyone has different capacities in the cold water department. But I have always held that roughly 60 and over is no-wetsuit territory. Of course there are swimmers sliding into 49 degree water without wetsuits, but not me. And there may well be folks who won't "swim skin" in 60 degree water on the grounds that it'll be too cold. Another gauge I use is this: If my feet hurt for more than a couple seconds in the water, its likely going to be too cold for me to swim without a wetsuit. If not, then I'm getting in sans neoprene. Hope this helps!
What Mike says make sense. The only thing I would add is the "Acclimation Factor" and the "Sunshine Factor." Fifty-five degrees feels a lot colder early in the season, when you are not acclimated, and not yet accustomed to doing the hard thing of "taking the plunge." And 55 degrees feels a lot colder if you cannot come out of the water, to warm air temperatures, and bright sunshine.
Can someone fill me in on when the evening swim has been occurring? Enquiring minds want to know.
Ahhhh......his feet are a bit sketchy on a good day.
