Oh Sure, Let's All Go to the Beer Garden. Psych!

Last Swim:  Sunday, Noon
Next Swims: Weekdays 6am & 6pm / Weekend Days 8am & noon

Weather Conditions: 70 & Sunnyish
Water Temp: 68
Waves: Moderately wavey from the southeast
Clarity: Clear away from shore
Kru: Itch, Rosey, Brick, Sandy, Kahuna, We'Tac, Hawaii 4.o, The D0lly Llama, Bakhtiari

Read the below post from the Cap'n.  Oh sure, "let's all go for a swim, let's all go to the beer garden, let's all gather and wish the Dolly Lama Happy Birthday!" Lured by the Pied Piper of Glendale, off we went.  But did the Cap'n show up?  For any of it?  Noooooooooo.  Nevertheless, a good time was had by all.  Including my polka partner Roscoe.  Thanks to Hawaii 4-O for pulling out his phone and his NFL All Access Season Pass, and letting us watch the exciting conclusion to the Packers/Saints game.  Love it!

For those debating swimming into October, note conditions are still surprisingly delicious.  Get some while you can.

My appologies to the Cap'n, as he reports he DID show up to last Sunday's bier garden celebration, but that was after I had already left. He also clarified that it wasn't HIS event last Sunday, he was just passing along a invitation from others. Mea culpa.

Weather looks great for swimming this weekend (even if it will be a bit warm for those running the new Milwaukee Lake Front Marathon course, which the Cap'n is the Assistant Race Director of this year). Hopefully, the runners will be cooled by all the lake views, and maybe some off-the-lake breezes, as they go up and down the Hoan. Good luck to the Cap'n for a smooth and uneventful event.

Anyone interested in an Autumn full moon swim tonight at 6:30?

I was out of town. Sorry I missed it. If we don't see each other at the beach before you fly off to London on the 3rd, Bon Voyage! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTfV_l8AUjU&ab_channel=CrazymanSeeks

Moondaug, have a great time. Bring your swim googles, the English Channel waits.

Aren't fellow bloggers out there sick of seeing my face yet? Isn't it time for a fresh blog posting?

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Moondaug, Cap'n Kahuna and everyone else that I've met so far for being so welcoming and making swimming fun for this newbie. I'm glad I could contribute my "big screen" at the bier garden.

Oh please someone post some real water temps for this week. My fingers and toes are permanently white and my watch stopped completely. I would not say this water is Baltic. But, it is somewhere in the 50's (56ish) at Bradford in the rockin' waves or my name is not

Ah. But what of the finale?

Those flamingos must have brought you tropical waters!

58-60, maybe even warmer spots tonight on the gentlest of water. Freaking glorious fall swimming.

Tuesday 10/17 1:30PM swim report
Waves: pretty little ripples
Water temperature: probably <60’F, but who cares, the sun was out.
Visibility: I could see my hands, sort of. But it was turquoise water, so who cares.

Thursday night:

Air temp: 55
Water temp: still 60...what?!
Waves: occasional lilt from SSE, otherwise flat
Clarity: cloudy, but aqua!

Precip kept a certain stalwart away this evening, but Kristina and Kristin (aka Synchro) enjoyed a sublime swim, tracing an almost indistinguishable line between lake and sky, punctuated by raindrops, and ignited by blazes of fall color along the bluff. Lovely.
