Then She Said, Moondaug "Changed My Life"

Water Conditions:  Flat, crystal clear.
Water Temp:  66 per buoy, some colder pockets along the way, but overall delightful.
Monday Morning Kru:  Showgirl, Magic Mike, Mystery Man, Mystery Woman, Lt. MJ, Kahuna, Willa the Wonder Dog, others whose names unfortunately I didn't get.
Next Swims:  Wednesday-Friday 6am & 6pm, Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m. and 12 Noon

The quote in the above headline was said on the beach post swim today.  Enquiring minds desired additional details, but were too decorous to ask.

I was a pretty big fan of Big Bay

Amy B -- I hope you come swim with us, and bring your friend. There was some unpleasant odors at Klode for a week or two in early June this year (due to an unusual gobi fish die off), but that was only at the beach, and now would say the beach and water conditions around Klode are delightful (of course, conditions change daily, especially after a large rain; watch the blog for details). Big Bay and Atwater are also nice beaches, and Atwater has lifeguards during certain hours. The nicest thing though about Klode for novice open water swimmers is that if one swims North, one can swim for a mile or so North with beautiful smooth sand underneath you, and a nice sand beach (rather than rocks), next to you. Water depth stays pretty consistent along that streach (i.e., there are no sudden drop offs, or unexpected jetties as you swim North). If newbies swim close to shore, if ever they have any problems, or get tired, they can just stop and stand up, or (if they decide "I've swam enough for me today"), they can just walk out of the water, and walk back to Klode Beach. No shame in that. The important thing is to enjoy your swim, and gain confidence in your abilities; swimming from Klode with the Kru has advantages for that. I hope to see you on the beach. Cheers.

Sigh, another JSOnline article regarding the risks of posed by bacteria that one might be exposed to if one dares to swim in Lake Michigan:

https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/health/2023/07/10/u-s-great-lakes-beaches-have-persistent-bacteria-problems/70388027007/

Car-dependent-lifestyles, couches, TV remotes and refrigerators are far more dangerous to the health of your average (sedentary, over-weight) American, than Lake Michigan ever will be.

After badmouthing Klode I can think of a few places you can go.....but you'll probably complain about the heat and brimstone.

For real. “Hi I’m put off by where you swim”

Seems like self awareness just aint what it used to be.
