Tues 5pm crystal clear swim north. Caught off guard by the 61F temp out there, 63 near shore by birches. Itch and marveled at how those 2 degrees felt sooo warm in comparison. Beautiful late afternoon. Apparently there was a large fish near mount jackass (in the water). But thats a good thing innit?

Tues. 6:30 PM, Bradford.
Mostly flat and crystal clear. Wait for it...Water Temp about 57 degrees by my lights and frozen digits. So about thirty yards out at the mid- north end of the beach a pond of seventy something bath water: real or imagined--diameter the size of two swimmers floating head-to-head. Then, a renewed shock of ice water. Well. I got used to it. No more muck and no draggin', other bathers fading as we slip into fall.
Wind due to change Saturday.

3 shift rotation at the beach this morning! 8 am shift consisted of HFoN, Rachel and myself. We were greeted by the 6am crew walking up the ramp and by Handyman Hank and NS Nancy as they emerged from the water. Beautiful morning for a swim that nobody wanted to end.

2nd AM shifters Handyman and NS Nancy. Nice to connect with Dragonfly pre-swim and the Lieutenant post-swim! Clear, calm, and I thought it felt warmer than 64, but I was suited up. Handyman may be a better judge of what the temp was since he wasn't wearing a wetsuit.
