South is the new North

Next swims: Monday-Friday, 6 am and 5 pm  (Big Bay??)
Saturday/Sunday, 7 am, 8 am and Noon

Last Swim: Thursday, 6 AM - AT BIG BAY
Water Temp:  66 or 65...
Waves:  small out of the south
Clarity: crystal clear
Air Conditions:  low 50's
Kru:  Showgirl,  Linda the Lamprey, Dragonfly, Mr. Anonymous, IceDog, (and later) Magic Mike and HandymanHank
Shore Support:  woman with fancy camera

It was dark enough this morning that I heard Dragonfly and Linda before I saw them.  Moondog was already on the (teeny tiny) beach when we arrived, and Mr. A rolled in shortly after.

We set up shop on the stair things.

The small waves out of the south told us that we should go....... south.  And so we did.

The south shoreline used to be mostly un-interesting, but now there are all sorts of cool things.  More epic rock walls, tiny houses, kayaks, staircases galore, along with some interesting underwater rock piles.

It pains me to acknowledge that the water temperature is dropping, but the mid-60's is still easy to go wetsuit-free.

This weird late-season move to Big Bay is kind of awesome.  We were trying to pinpoint what we like about it.  It's cozy.  It's less crowded.  The concrete stadium seating is cool. There are no Wim Hoffers.... explanations abound.   We will be there tomorrow.

Wednesday 5pm

water temp=69
air temp=69
waves: 1-3' out of ESE
clarity: 7/10
Kru: Mr.Bubble, Itch, Synchro, Lauren

A quick stop at Klode confirmed my suspicions that nothing was taking place construction-wise. No one else arrived by 5, so I trundled on to Big Bay for my first-ever swim there. I was initially put off by the seiche/constructive interference in the waves setting up to the south. Itch made some bargaining attempts to lure me in the water, but ultimately it was Lauren who provided the moral support for me to take the plunge. Thanks Lauren! That's right everyone...I'm chicken, so you don't have to be!
