I love swimming but have little experience with swim training/open water swimming. Is there someone I can speak with to learn more?

Dear Kunu -- Come swim with us! We've had people come and swim with the group (and become regular members) who had a tough time swimming 50 yards when they started swimming with us. And Klode is an excellent place to get started with open water swimming, compared to other lakes, given the good level of water quality and clarity that often exists, the fairly flat sand bottom, the nice walkable shoreline, and the easy "exit option" (that is, when you are first getting used to the Lake, don't swim in water deeper than than your shoulders, and if you ever feel in trouble, stop swimming, walk to shore, and walk back to the park along the beach). Easy peasy. Water temp on occasion can be challenging, but that is all manageable with the right gear and attitude. The group members are chock full of helpful hints and knowledge (even if not necessarily wisdom). I hope to see you on the beach.
