I know it's been a minute, but I'm wondering if anyone would like to revisit the idea of a make-up bookclub for those that missed the meeting awhile back to discuss The Island of Sea Women. I saw a moving documentary on the women's march to hasten an official end to the Korean War, and was reminded of how much I learned from the book. I am willing to host, and could be ready as soon as this weekend...

The forcast is for some winds out of the west this week. A good reason to check the buoy, and be sure to have your cold water gear in your pack, before you head for the beach.

Last swim: 7-25-23, 6 pm
Water temp: 61 with colder and warmer patches (mostly colder)
Waves: Nice structure and fun push coming back, about 1 footers.
Clarity: Little stirred but could see the bottom.
Kru: Moondaug, Superherra on the earlier shift

Greeting me on the beach was Superhera, spawns of Superhera and Squeeze of Superhera. Squeeze of Superhera was looking over the lake with new baby in tow as the little spawn seemed delighted with the sounds, sight, and smells of the Lady of the Lake. Though no official baptism has occurred yet, I was told.

Though I was warned it was cooling, I just couldn't put a wetsuit on. So, I cut my swim a little short but still respectable. The push back was wonderful. I think just about halved my time on the way back. Best swim of the season.

I'm hoping to get a swim in on Saturday morning. I may know of a couple others that are coming as well. Am I reading right that there is a regular group on Saturday mornings at 8 AM?

Thanks for any and all info!

We had a great swim on Saturday! So thankful for the 2 swimmers that took me under their wing (fin?) for a good 2+ mile swim down to "the train". :) (I would mention names of the 2 swimmers, but don't know their nicknames here.) It was a great warm-up (or cool-down) for the Point to La Pointe swim next Saturday.

I hope to get down there again for another swim this season. Thanks for those who helped me navigate my first swim from Klode.
