Full Moon Swim

Full moon swim:  Sat. 9-10-22, 7:30 P.M.

Looking forward to the warm water holding on a clear night, and a flat surface. Full moon rises over the lake at 7:44 pm, with a sunset at 7:11 PM.  Come on out and swim in the harvest full moon rays, with an after-swim twist of Pitsch if you choose. Or maybe just watch the light of the full moon on these last days of summer.  So, who's in?

In!

And for some relatable fun for those that like things a bit adventurous, check out the documentary on Action Park in New Jersey. A waterpark unlike anything else. Per some convo from Thursday PM post swim swill. There’s bits on youtube and I believe a full expose/memorial on netflix.

I can’t make it until after 8:00, but I might swing by for a peep at the moon.

On the forecast I'm looking at I see mostly sunny for today. But anyways, a mind can blow those clouds away.

Anyone swim this morning or Fri eve? Is the water temp holding at Klode?

Saturday 8:00, clear calm, 62ish water

Looking pretty cloudy in bay view. Gonna skip the full moon swim :(

Hey All, not too surprising given the relentlessness of the rain and flooding, but there was an overflow event. Runoff and debris probably a bigger issue for today.

Here's more - it was a combined sewer overflow event so the overflow may be hundreds of millions of gallons (last one in August 2021 was 380 million gallons) and contains "untreated or partially treated human and industrial waste, toxic materials, and debris as well as stormwater. They are a priority water pollution concern for the nearly 860 municipalities across the U.S. that have CSSs." More at https://www.mmsd.com/what-we-do/wastewater-treatment/overflows

So, does this mean there are water quality concerns at Klode? I'm looking online and there's nothing on the county or city beach conditions indicating closure or warning. Did anyone venture out today?

Personally, I wouldn't go for 3 days after a discharge, or 1 day after rain

Anybody got a conditions report from Wednesday morning?
