Next Swims: Mon. - Fri., 6 am & 6 pm
And keep an eye out for deets of our Friday Full Moon Swim, plus perhaps socializing after?
Last Swims:
Tuesday 6am
Water Temp: 67
Waves: small slow swells
Water Clarity: Nope
Crew: Showgirl, Panini, Flipper Guy
Monday 6am
Water Temp: 64
Waves: very wavy, with some breakers
Water Clarity: Nope
Crew: Magic Mike, Showgirl, Panini
I assume there have been evening swims as well.
This was a pretty awesome morning for swimming. It was just Panini and me, with Flipper Guy just finishing his swim when I arrived. All quiet on in the lot and on the beach.
I was happy and surprised to see my thermometer stop at 67. The big waves have died down, and now it's just low swells, with perhaps a small current out of the north. There is a lot of gunk in the water inside the rock piles, but just cloudy elsewhere. You can also feel a tangle of seaweed with your feet on the bottom near shore, plus a lot has washed up on the beach.
Other than that, it was a nearly ideal morning of swimming.

after your full moon swim, go over to the Riverwest neighborhood and get a glimpse of H.E. DOUBLE Toothpicks (aka Handyman Hank and North Shore Nancy) participating in the RW24.
Monday night swim: 68 degrees, 2 foot choppy waves, murky near shore with quite a bit of filth and some rather dangerous debris scattered about, blue much further out. kru: Lamprey, Drangonfly, HH, Liz, Don Diego, Itch, Patriarch, Sir James, and Big Show.
thanks again to Liz for bringing the tasty treats, sweet jesus they were good. of course we should've saved some for DD, who was still swimming, but we didn't. I guess we're just not very good people...well Liz is, but the rest of us not so much(what do you expect from a bunch of Pitsch fueled pirates) best swim of the season
If you want to do some socializing, and nice short social ride, then maybe some swimming at Atwater, the moon is 99% full tomorrow (Thursday) night. Come to Three Lions between 7-9 for Kahuna's fundraiser and raffle (benefiting that excellent charity, World Bicycle Relief). See the blog post of earlier this week for full details. Cheers.
