The lovely south wind that gave us a week of amazing November swims was replaced by a cruel wind out of the north.
We first went to the normal Kru beach location, felt the wind, and then quickly relocated to huddle next to the metal wall on the north end.
Four hardy badasses went into the 41 degree water this morning, and Dragonfly did a SKIN plunge.
TL, LL, and AM swam north into the chop, and it looked like they were probably past the garage. They all said that they were mostly comfortable in the water, but that it's the transition in the freezing air that's brutal.
As I gazed over the wall at the swimmers I told Ara that there was FROZEN WATER on top of the metal wall. She said, "you mean ice?" Yes, ice. Ice.
The Ice Women return. |
Post swim they all agreed how crazy the swimming was, but also agreed that they plan to do it again.
