Tonight was an interesting contrast to this morning. This morning, I arrived 15 minutes late and was met with scowling, unhappy faces, saying "Cold!", "G-D Atwater Buoy", "Effing Atwater Buoy" and "Fuggedaboutit, I'm outta here". The unhappy faces were heading back up the hill as I was heading down.
This evening, I went down to the beach about 5 minutes early and got to work with the mitch-o-meter. This time, the faces coming down to the beach were looking uncertain and nervous. No verbal communication needed - the looks on those faces were clearly saying "Is it still cold?", "Is it OK to go in now?". Of course, the most common verbalized question was "What's the water temperature?"
By the time I made it back to shore, the uncertain faces were gone, and there was Super Hera getting out of her wetsuit. Itch and Brick's backpacks and gear were still there and they arrived a few minutes later. Only three of us for the Killepitsch, with SuperHera as our witness. Tonight's toast - To warmer water! What goes down must go up!
Can't think of any songs about "What goes up must come down" - had to reverse polarity.
The point is the same, regardless of the polarity
the Spinning Wheel is The Circle of Life
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
'Til we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The Circle of Life
