As we walked down the bluff to the beach we were treated to a gorgeous rainbow over the lake, made doubly beautiful by it's reflection in the water. For a couple minutes there were two rainbows and two reflections.
But after the rainbows came the storm. By the end of a short swim, it was dark, raining hard and the wind was howling. We hurried back up the bluff as quickly as we could.
But the cold rain couldn't extinguish reflections of rainbows.

On the other side of that rainbow Beth and I swam from McKinley beach to about 3/4 of the way to the end of the peir,.62 miles as the Garmin measures. On the other side was a beautiful orange sunset lighting up Milwaukee’s downtown skyline. The sand there is actually sand, and not gravel. It was nice for once not to be graveled at the end of an enjoyable swim. Afterwards we enjoyed recovery at Alterra on the lake. This may be the start of a new franchise. The McKinley Maniacs perhaps?
