Aww hell. That's good enough for me.
Holy hell I miss this.
water is 46.......52 is the ankle deep water in full sun on a hot day at noon five feet off shore. not a deal breaker, its only 6 degrees, just letting you know. excelsior!
I've love to join you...
Bummed I missed the party on Sunday! I went down by myself on Saturday around 5. Only made it out to the rocks and back. Moondaug came down, too, on his bike though.
The Northshore Health Department today has issued new regulations regarding the use of public beaches. The new regulations provide:
Public beaches. Public beaches will be open for moving through while walking, running,
or biking with individuals and pets practicing Physical Distancing and Protective Measure Requirements. Swimming as well as team and contact sports on public beaches remain prohibited.
I plan to attend next Monday's online Shorewood Village Board meeting to speak in opposition to the current requirement prohibiting swimming. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that persons engaging in open water swimming pose any risk whatsoever of spreading the Corona virus.
Good. I do take this seriously but this one is out of fear/not knowing/probably not wanting to rescue anyone/thinking the waters too cold anyway so who cares.
Here's a pandemic pastime for members of the Kru. Let us assume that a militant group of swimmers and surfers are going to organize a protest of the ban on swimming and surfing in the Lake. Let us further assume that this is an old fashion 1960's protest, with people walking around carrying large signs, and chanting. What would those signs say? What would the chants be? It's a contest. Kahuna will give a bottle of Killepitsch to the member of the Kru who comes up with the best protest sign or chant. To get things started, here are some nominations or suggestions:
Signs:
SURF BANDS
NOT SURF BANS
WE CAN HANG 10
FEET APART
CORONAVIRUS CAN'T
SWIM
Chants:
What do we want?
REALLY COLD WATER SWIMMING!
When do we want it?
NOW!
Hey, hey! Ho, ho!
... [your turn]
swim free or die!
Its better wetter.
Free Willy!
The protest starts with an out of his head swimmer screaming-"LIFES BETTER WETTER", and the refrain from the crowd chants back-"FREE WILLY", As the momentum ebbs and flows with the continuing chant-
IT'S BETTER WETTER-FREE WILLY...
IT'S BETTER WETTER-FREE WILLY...
IT'S BETTER WETTER-FREE WILLY...
P.S. I think it works as a sign as well.
