Next Swims:
- Friday 9/14 5:30PM
- Saturday Noon (Shipwreck swim at Atwater beach)
- Sunday noon, Klode
Last Swim: Thursday 9/13 6PM
Water Temp: 66
Waves: Almost Calm
Water Clarity: Good and improving
Crew: Itch, Mr. Bubble, Drangonfly, Stickler, Leslie, Sir James, Patriarch
Despite the shorter days there’s still good swimming to be had. Water temps have been holding in the mid-sixties. The forecast for the weekend is sunny, warm, low winds, and nearly calm water.
Itch has proposed a shipwreck swim on Saturday. Our last two attempts were foiled by murky water. It could happen again but there’s reason for optimism as the water clarity has been improving.
As for next week, I think it’s time we bow to the inevitable and move the weekday morning swim later and the evening swim earlier. I propose 6:30AM and 5:30PM for the weekday swims. Please comment.
P.S. Please note that tonight’s (Friday) swim has been moved up to 5:30PM

Friday, 9/14 a.m. conditions (Showgirl and Kahuna swimming) were outstanding: 63 degrees, flat with perfect clarity. September morning swims are my favorite swims of the season. If current conditions hold over the next 24 to 48 hours (and the weather forecast suggests they will), conditions for a shipwreck swim tomorrow at noon could be outstanding. Water tends to be calmer, the earlier one gets out there, so maybe a 10 or 11 start time would be better than noon. But since I may not be able to make either swim this weekend, I'm not voting.
To see drone footage of the attempted shipwreck swim earlier this summer, copy and paste this link:

Think about it: drone footage set to music. Every once and awhile you gotta pause, and say "what amazing times we live in."
I'll be in for today Friday at 5:30 p.m. Can't make Saturday.
I vote for 5:30 p.m. for evening swims!
6:30 am sounds good. Any later wouldn't work.
I'll be at atwater today!
Paging Forger...those spicy pickled green cherry tomatoes were delicious. I have a lot of green cherry tomatoes. Help! Your recipe will be our little secret.
Handyman and Nancy are swimming at 10am at Klode Sunday morning. We welcome other football fans to join us.
Forger OOT. So tomatoes by memory.
Rinse with cold water and put in pickle jar layered with pepper corns, and fresh dill and one or two halopeno peppers, seeds removed. Table spoon pickle salt on top and about 1/3 jar height with vinegar. Fill to top with boiling water. Seal with cap and let room cool. Hearing pop means nice seal. I store in basement for at least 4 weeks shaking a little daily.🤠
Thank you! This is fantastic! 🌶🍻
