Greg and Ted (a.k.a The Patriarch and The Cap'n, a.k.a Dos Locos) will record their excellent Lake Michigan swim adventures here. We'll provide daily updates on lake conditions, and our plans for upcoming swims. In addition we'll write some observations, ramblings, rants, and wacko theories related to Lake Michigan swimming (or not).

Harmless Weather Instrument? Harmless Weather Instrument My Ass
Last Swim: Sunday, 10 am
Clarity: Meh
Waves: Bit 'o chop Crew: Scotharoo, Virginia, She Who Must Not Be Named ("SWMNBN"), Kahuna
Next swims:12 high noon Sun. and Sat.; 6&6 M-F
Found on the beach today by SWMNBN, the above, remnants of something that looks vaguely like a large amount of latex fabric, along with data collection and transmission equipment, labeled "Harmless Weather Instrument." Sure, that's what theywant you to believe.
More information regarding what THEY want you to believe about their so called weather information equipment: https://www.weather.gov/upperair/radiosonde#:~:text=IMPORTANT%3A%20On%20rare%20occasions%20the,fire%20department%20for%20safe%20disposal.
From the web page posted-"(4) If the radiosonde is missing a mailbag, is damaged (e.g. exterior casing is crushed), or was found floating in water, it should be disposed of following regulations in your area for handling discarded electronics with depleted lithium batteries." Was it properly disposed of?
